United Way Romania Strives to improve Our Community’s Education, Health and Integration process

United Way Romania is a Romanian foundation, registered in June 2004 and affiliated with United Way Worldwide, USA. It is an independent body, governed by local volunteers.

United Way USA was founded in 1887 and is currently present in 45 countries around the world. In 134 years of existence, United Way has built real, strong, and united communities worldwide, by improving education, supporting financial stability and promoting a healthy lifestyle. United Way has mobilized millions of people to support their causes through donations, and to become volunteers in the communities in which they live.

At the core of United Way’s beliefs is that everyone deserves an opportunity to a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. That is why United Way’s work is focused on the three essential pillars for a good life: Education, Integration and Health.

Every year, corporate partner companies and their employees, donors, and volunteers, contribute with $5.09 billion and 25 million volunteer hours, to create opportunities for a better life for people less fortunate than them, making United Way the largest private nonprofit organization in the world.

The Topolinski Family Joins Tocqueville Society

The United Way Alexis de Tocqueville Society reunites leaders in communities – both as philanthropists and in their respective industries. Tocqueville Society members have achieved the success that so many others are striving to obtain; and that success also calls for a higher sense of social responsibility.

In June 2021 The Topolinski Family was invited to join Tocqueville Society as a donor, as a role model for philanthropy, and civic leadership. It is an honor for The Topolinski Family to be a member of a reputable and impactful group known worldwide.

“The Topolinski Family is inspired and motivated to offer support to United Way because we care about our community. As a Canadian family that moved to Romania in 2007 for work, Romania has been good to our family, and we want to give back. Volunteerism and philanthropy are ways we make an impact and support under-privileged communities in Romania. The Topolinski Family looks forward to connecting with other Tocqueville Society members that also strive to improve our community.”

Naguma Medical Supply supports the well-being of the community by donating 1.200.000 masks to United Way Romania

In February 2020, Naguma Medical Supply SRL donated 1.200.000 protective face masks to United Way Romania, helping 12.000 people in Bucharest, Cluj, and Timisoara to stay safe during the pandemic.

The Topolinski Family plans to support United Way Romania by working together to improve education and health, and to support social integration for less fortunate community members.

Volunteer work such as teaching children how to read and write in English or participating in the mentorship program are just a few ways Topolinski Family decided to get involved. We strongly believe in the power of education, being the key to a better future.
